5 Movies I Want To See Adapted Into Stage Shows!

Well earlier I picked what stage musicals I think would make good movies, so let's do the reverse. Last verse same as the first, these are some movies that I think could make for some fun musicals, in no particular order.

.Tangled

The movie is beloved, the music is great, and the music in the animated series is fantastic I am sure Alan Menken could return and add some new pieces. Frozen has taken the stage by storm, this show could be another big hit for Disney.

.The Greatest Showman

If they make it about a fictitious circus owner instead of the real terrible one, make the story a tad more fleshed out, and add a couple more songs, this show could be amazing.

. Hello Dolly

With the revival doing so well, that proves this classic could be introduced to a new audience with grand sets, and giant fun numbers.

.Scott Pilgrim V.s The World

With the surge of 2000's movies being adapted this one could be fun in the same vain as Be More Chill, There would need to be some writing changes that are super dated, as well as some jokes that did not age well, but if retooled correctly, this could be a fun nerdy hit!

.La La Land

If I had to pick one it would be this movie, The beautiful and amazing atmosphere and music, the well told story and the grand numbers and set pieces. This amazing tale is begging to be expanded and told on stage.

Those were my picks, thank you for reading and I can not wait to see what movies get adapted for stage, some are not good at all, but there are some really good gems as well, like Waitress. I hope your day is a showstopper

5 Musicals I Want To See As Movies!

Welcome to Musical Monday, our Monday weekly post, with some other stuff posted throughout the week as well sometimes, but Monday posts are guaranteed. So with the upcoming adaptations of In The Heights and West Side Story dropping trailers, as well as announcements for a couple other shows entering production. I decided to list some Broadway shows that I think would make some excellent movie adaptions, some may have been movies before hand but I think the musical adaption deserves some time to shine on the big screen. So in no particular order here are five musicals that I think would make great movies.

.Waitress

This musical has so much good music and great comedy with a sprinkle of heart. This show is great and I think would be great.

. Finding Neverland

This musical has so many fun songs, a movie version would be super fun.

. Sunday In The Park With George

This show has so much beauty and soul to it, and with many Sondheim works being adapted, I would be delighted to see this one take the big screen.

.Something Rotten

This show is so much fun, and is incredibly funny, filled with so many theater and musical references, this would be a fun, musical, comedic legend if done right.

.Legally Blonde

If I had to pick one that would for sure get turned into a movie it would be this one. There would need to be some updates to the writing but besides this, the music, energy, and story are such an incredible balance of fun, comedy, and inspiration that make this show unforgettable. Though it was a movie already, the musical has such an amazing style all its own that it would make an excellent movie.

These are my picks, and I for one can not wait to see the In The Heights movie, which I will definitely talk about sooner than later. Until then I hope your day is a showstopper!

Update! Time to Rebrand!

The stage has been closed for a year, and it may seem even longer. Some local theaters are trying performances but in my local area the shows that tour have already pushed until 2022. And it made me think, what if someone did not live in New York and can maybe visit every once in a long while like me? What if they depend on tours or local theaters, and cast albums and live tapings for their access to the arts. And due to this pandemic we need to get creative, and we have been getting creative even before. For those who love the stage and can not visit it as much as some, as some who listen to cast albums over and over as they wait for the hot new show to go on tour. For those who love live musicals and shows but also have only a weekend to watch it on YouTube before it is gone again, where there are so many options for current theater online but they are here and gone in a blink. We got creative before, and we will get creative again. Welcome to... Accessible Arts. A blog that will do one post every Monday and maybe a bonus post  or two thought the week when inspiration strikes all about cast albums, tours, books, live shows, local theater, and more. The stage may have the lights dimmed, and the future is unknown. We may need to rely on movies and live shows a bit longer, and we try to keep track with the shows uploaded online. There are some fun exceptions I will  explore and I will try to get creative, from streaming services, to services dedicated to the arts, to the albums that have been collecting both digital and physical dust. I will be doing reviews, discussions, playlists, lists, tier lists, and even redoing some old content. On top of tons of fun and different new ideas as well, some old ideas and some fun and different new ones. So here is the review rating list!

Made Me Les Miserable- Super bad, would not see or listen to again

A Pretty Good Bad Idea- Mostly bad with a few good parts in it

Finish The Hat- Okay, worth seeing but I have mixed feelings

Puts A Chip On My Shoulder- Mostly good with a few flaws

A Showstopper- Fantastic, amazing

Time to make the most for stay at home theater, and how to make the most of what we have even when the stage reopens. Welcome and enjoy!

A Brief Intermission

I know I just said I was coming back, but the world of theater is a mess right now. Check the news and you will see there is some major injustice at hand, and until that I addressed and dealt with, I pledge my silence. I will bring content to this blog in spades soon enough but I want to wait till the time is right. I will bring new posts to this blog soon, but an intermission is in order. Take care.

Time To Return!

I have been away from this blog for so long, and there is so much to talk about. The shows I saw before the world shut down, the cast albums I listened to, the song I adore. There is so much to dive into for the world of theater, and I am ready to make my return after multiple attempts to revitalize this blog, lots of ideas, and a lot of thinking, after a two year hiatus, it is time to take the stage of this blog once again. It has been over a year since theater has shut its doors and the lights of Broadway have gone dark, leaving us with just recordings, cast albums, live shows and a few other options to hold us over. Some theaters have done at home performances, others drive ins, I have not see any, the last show I saw was my second viewing of Hamilton over a year ago,  which I am glad that I saw, but I miss theater so much. But it is time to return to this blog, an update of what content is on the way, stay tuned!
