My Favorite Animated Movie Musicals : Disney

A while back i talked about my favorite movie musicals, specifically my favorite live action movie musicals, but when we all think of movies and musicals we always think Disney, the classics that 99% of us were raised on, these are great introductions to musicals for kids on top of some of the ones mentioned earlier. Here are my top 5 favorites, I am a huge Disney fan, so this won't be the last time we discuss Disney, here are my favorites, share yours.

5. Mulan: This movie is so classic, this was also the first movie I ever saw, this does have one of the most energetic Disney songs with " I'll Make a Man out of You" , but a nice ballad with " Reflection"

4. A Goofy Movie: One of my absolute favorites and I love this movie more and more over time, with amazing songs like " After Today" and " Eye to Eye", don;t judge a book by it's cover, this movie has humor, heart and fun.

3. Lion King:  The original Disney titan, with unforgettable songs by Elton John and company unforgettable songs like " Be Prepared " and " Hakunnah Matata"  and no one will forget the epic beginning with " The Circle of Life"

2. Beauty and the Beast:  This film has aged incredibly, the characters, the emotion, the subtleties and grand moments in the animation, this film is a tale as old as time , that will remain timeless. Alan Menkin brings unforgettable songs like " Be our Guest", " Belle" and the unforgettable waltz accompanied by the title song. This movie is still incredible, full of life and charm

1. Aladdin: My childhood favorite, the humor alongside unforgettable songs by Alan Menkin are one of a kid with the late great Robin Willaims stealing the sow as the genie this movie has no weak songs my personal favorite is " Friend Like Me"

Until next time I hope your day is a showstopper

Shows that Deserve a Second Chance: Part Two, (Pitches)

There are a couple shows I read on that deserve a second chance but they failed, so I decided to pitch ideal plots to some musicals that failed, thus if they were changed, they might do better, this is all hypothetical but I thought It would be fun to try.

Annie 2 :

The original sequel to the classic show about everyone's favorite orphan was about Daddy Warbucks needing to get married, and Miss Hannigan trying to get her revenge on Annie.  I was  reading on this show and I thought what it was about Annie raising a child as an adult, much like how Daddy Warbucks raised her, they could go on different adventures, with a new villain that would be in the spirit of the original

9 to 5:

Based off the Dolly Parton song and the movie, maybe this show would do better if It was a Dolly Parton jukebox musical, and it was made more lighthearted, with a couple of dramatic moments, like " Waitress" which is a huge success.

This was a lot of fun to go over shows that I want to see get a revival, or redone, I definitely plan on doing this again in the future. Thank you for reading, and Until next time, I hope your day is a showstopper.

Shows that Deserve a Second Chance : Part 1

Last post I talked about the revivals I had the idea " What if I talk about shows that flopped, what if they had a revival, maybe if they had a second chance they would succeed ." So I first went over shows that did well and would be in demand to revived, but what about the shows who failed for whatever reason but could maybe do  better if tried again. I have two ideas, but lets start with the first, shows that I think would do well revived as is.  This was tons of fun to look onto, so this will not be the first time. Also before we get to the list, please consider following or liking this post, now on to the list.

Seussical: This show was incredible, but it also flopped , with all the Dr. Seuss movies coming out lately, I feel like now is the perfect time to try again, this show is fun, full of life lessons, and is a great first musical for kids. with unforgettable songs, like " Oh the thinks you can think" and " How Lucky You Are "

Chess: This show has such an interesting concept, i have only heard one or two songs  about a year ago, but they made me want to look into the show more, I think it would come out of left field and surprise everyone, and it definitively deserves a second chance

Breakfast at Tiffany's: This is a great idea, that unfortunately flopped back in the day, I love the classic film and i think if some changes were made, and there were enough differences from the movie it could be like " A Christmas Story" or " Catch Me if You Can" , this is one I would peronally love to see.

speaking of touching up....that will just have to wait. Until next time, I hope your day is a showstopper, thanks for reading .

Musicals That I Want to See Revived

Carousel has a revival coming up, I thought to myself what shows I'd like to see done again, so in no particular order here are some shows I would love to see revived, and please  share what shows you'd like to see brought back.

Music Man - this classic has been absent for too long, it is a great comedy and should return

Guys and Dolls - this is another classic that has been absent for quite some time with shows like " MY Fair Lady" and " Hello Dolly" seeing a reassurance I think this and the show mentioned above are just asking to be brought back, the classic tale of love, lies, and gambling

Newsies -  More recent but this is one of Alan Menkin's best, some of the best dancing you will ever see, as well as unforgettable songs, the Broadway version is on Netflix and when it was relased in cinemas it did so well it had an encore performance. It needs at the least, another tour

Legally Blonde the Musical- With " Mean Girls the Musical" on the horizon at the time of this post, I think we need another visit from Elle Woods, this hilarious show has a lot more heart then people think it would, it's also pure fun

In the Heights- I know this is getting a movie, but now with " Hamilton" at peak popularity why not give new fans a chance to see where Lin Manuel Miranda started with this very real and amazing show, with energy like no show I have listened to before.

Until next time, which there definitely will be, I hope your day is a showstopper, but on a similar not...

Songs For the Work Day ( Reprise)

It has been a good couple months, so I thought it was a good time to revisit this topic, and it wont be the last, I really enjoy finding different songs and applying them to my work week, it's always fun to find a way to have shows relate to real life, and if not one aspect of your life maybe another. So here are some more songs for your work week, and feel free to share, as I am always looking for new shows and songs to add to my playlist, and I definitely plan on covering this topic again

Penny in My Pocket- Hello Dolly Revival. : This once cute song was added once more in the most recent revival, a story of a rise to wealth is not only catchy and fun, but tells also tells a story. You may have a penny in your pocket now, but this song shows it won't always be this way

In the Heights ( L)/ Pacencia y Fe -In the Heights : These two songs show a realistic side of work, early mornings, hard days, and a lot of the same, but we continue to work towards our dreams. The characters are so real as they describe how they got to where they are now. Two amazing songs from a fantastic show.

For Now- Avenue Q:  This show is insane, when it is not blowing real life out of proportions, it ends on a very somber note, showing that not everything lasts, such as the bad things. You may find yourself in a job you don't like but you need to stay, but as you continue just know that it's only for now

Until next time I hope your day is a showstopper, thanks for reading
